Why I Recommend Squarespace to Every Small Business

When it comes to websites, there are two clear front-runners in my opinion; Squarespace and Shopify.

Shopify is excellent for e-commerce businesses, if you're primarily focused on selling products, it’s a no-brainer. But for almost everything else? I recommend Squarespace.

Whether you’re a service-based business, a startup, a personal brand, a portfolio-based freelancer, or anything in between, Squarespace hits the sweet spot between great designease of use, and real-world performance. And as a Squarespace Gold Circle member, I work with it every day.

Here’s why I rate it;

Everything in One Place

This is the main benefit…

From your website to your blog, email campaigns, forms, SEO tools, analytics, and even digital products; Squarespace keeps everything under one roof. There are no plug-ins to manage; no clunky third-party tools; and no technical nightmares to deal with.

Looks Great Without a Designer

You don’t need to hire anyone to make your site look polished, but it can help ;). Their templates are sleek, responsive, mobile-optimised and endlessly flexible; so your brand looks sharp from day one.

Scales With You

Whether you’re selling a digital product, launching a blog, capturing leads, or planning a full content strategy, Squarespace can grow with you. You can even run email campaigns and newsletters directly from the platform without needing Mailchimp or Substack.

Surprisingly Strong on SEO

Squarespace has made big improvements to its SEO toolkit. Everything from page titles and metadata to custom URLs and blogging structure is clean, simple to use, and built for performance. It’s perfect for showcasing your work, writing thought leadership, or building long-term organic traffic.

But Isn’t It Just Personal Preference?

Yes and no. Some people swear by WordPress or Wix. Others love Webflow. But for most small businesses, especially if you're not heavily reliant on product sales, Squarespace strikes the right balance between power and simplicity. And if your priority is speed, ease, and getting something live that looks great and works; it's often the best choice.

If you're unsure which platform suits your brand best, or you'd like help designing, writing, or launching your new site - I’d be happy to help.
