Our Experience with Global Marketing
When I first started First Touch Marketing, I wanted it to be a lean agency that could move quickly and adapt to whatever a client needed. What I didn’t expect was just how far that flexibility would take me. Today, I can proudly say our work is now live in over 20 countries; including England, France, Spain, Poland, America, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Indonesia, and Australia. It’s proof that global marketing isn’t just for big agencies with hundreds of staff; sometimes, the leaner agencies are actually more efficient.
🌍 From Manchester to the World
I’m proud of our Manchester roots, but my work has always stretched beyond the city and surrounding towns. With the benefit of online meeting software and tools, distance is no longer a barrier; and I’ve seen firsthand how effective collaboration can be, creating impact across the globe. It’s taught me how to bridge time zones, cultural differences and amazing ideas. And while I won’t take meetings at 2am (I do have limits), I pride myself on being flexible and reliable for clients wherever they’re based.
💹 Adapting to Different Markets
Working across multiple countries has shown me that marketing is not the same globally - while this was taught in my degree years back, nothing beats real world experience. A message that resonates in one culture can completely miss the mark in another. That’s why I’ve developed skills in localisation; not just translation tools. From reworking print collateral into Japanese, to adapting web content for partners in Thailand, to tailoring social media campaigns for Turkey, every asset needs the right nuance - every detail counts.
🤝 The Benefits of Staying Lean
One of the biggest misconceptions about global marketing is that you need a big, corporate-style agency to pull it off. While these teams obviously have benefits, being lean means no red tape; no endless approval chains; and no unnecessary delays. If something needs to be turned around for a client in another country, I can act quickly. The time zones can also be a benefit - get amends in your daytime, we can have them ready and polished for you as you check your emails with a coffee. And while First Touch Marketing is proudly built by myself, I also work with trusted freelancers; providing me the flexibility to scale when a project demands it.
